Astra ProductsJob Summary We have a small fabrication shop & warehouse in Copiague and are looking for somebody who could help out with all the different operations. Tasks would include fabrication of finished parts, packing up orders, getting materials received into inventory, machine maintenance, and keeping the warehouse neat and organized. We'll need someone who is organized and can take on mechanical tasks (like machine maintenance). If things progress, there would be some CAD/CAM tasks which require a good head for numbers, reading drawings, and using computers. The position will require some heavy lifting and running a forklift. We will train the right candidate. We run a 4day (M-Th) production schedule. This position would be paid hourly. This could be a part-time (less than 30hrs/week) or full-time position, depending on the candidate. Responsibilities would include Receive, tag, and store incoming materials Pack up outgoing orders Operate forklift Lift heavy objects Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut materials Run CNC Laser and Router cutting machines Machine and building maintenance Finishing/assembling small optical parts, such as removing protective masking, cleaning up edges, applying adhesives. Conduct quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet company standards. Maintain a clean and organized workspace/warehouse, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a warehouse/shop setting. Experience Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or assembly line environment is preferred. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools is preferred. Experience operating forklifts is preferred We could train the right candidate.
