Pay: $14 - $16/hr
Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Must be comfortable working up to 13 days straight during peak shelling season.
Responsibilities
• Operate a yard spotter truck to move and position trailers throughout the facility.
• Back trailers safely into loading, unloading, and designated parking areas.
• Move empty and loaded trailers as needed to support production and shipping.
• Safely maneuver around employees, trucks, equipment, buildings, and other vehicles.
• Perform basic pre-shift inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
• Keep the yard organized and ensure trailers are placed in the correct locations.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding trailer needs and movement.
• Follow all company safety procedures while operating equipment.
• Assist with general yard or facility cleanup when needed.
• Work efficiently to keep trailers moving and prevent delays in operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Previous yard spotter, yard jockey, hostler, or similar truck-driving experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable backing and maneuvering trailers in tight or busy areas.
• Ability to safely operate equipment around other vehicles, employees, and machinery.
• Comfortable working outdoors in changing temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, overtime, and extended schedules during peak season.
• Dependable attendance and ability to follow safety procedures are required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithville, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
