Warehouse Worker - 2nd Shift
KRC LogisticsPosition Summary The Warehouse Worker is responsible for safely and accurately receiving, handling, storing, picking, staging, and loading customer products within Staley General Transportation's temperature-controlled warehouse. The position requires the safe operation of material-handling equipment and consistent attention to product integrity, order accuracy, cleanliness, safety, and efficient warehouse operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely load and unload trailers using forklifts and other authorized material-handling equipment. Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts as required by the assigned warehouse area and racking configuration. Receive incoming freight and place products in assigned warehouse locations. Pick customer orders accurately for store deliveries and direct customer pickup. Stage, label, wrap, and prepare orders for shipment or customer pickup. Inspect product, pallets, labels, and orders for accuracy, condition, and visible damage. Stack and restack products or pallets as necessary to maintain safe and secure loads. Verify quantities and complete required warehouse documentation accurately. Maintain organized product storage, clear aisles, clean work areas, and orderly dock areas. Open and close dock and trailer doors and assist with routine dock activities. Immediately report damaged freight, discrepancies, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, accidents, or injuries to management. Follow company food-grade warehouse, sanitation, product-handling, security, attendance, timekeeping, and workplace conduct requirements. Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the position. Safety Responsibilities Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment only after required training and authorization. Follow safe loading, unloading, stacking, racking, dock, and material-handling procedures. Maintain awareness of pedestrians, forklifts, trailers, dock edges, racks, pallets, and other warehouse hazards. Use required personal protective equipment and follow all posted safety rules. Report unsafe equipment or working conditions immediately and do not knowingly create or disregard a safety hazard. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in an approximately 144,000-square-foot temperature-controlled warehouse maintained at approximately 65°F. The facility primarily handles food-grade products, including products for candy manufacturers. Employees work around forklifts, palletized freight, warehouse racking, trailers, loading docks, dock doors, and other material-handling equipment. Periodic exposure to outdoor temperatures may occur near open dock or trailer doors. Physical and Functional Requirements This is an active warehouse position requiring the employee to safely perform material-handling and equipment-operating duties throughout the workday. The employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb on and off authorized equipment, handle and move products, operate warehouse equipment, and perform repetitive warehouse tasks as necessary to complete assigned duties safely and efficiently. Qualifications Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work safely around forklifts, trailers, docks, warehouse racking, and material-handling equipment. Attention to detail and accuracy when picking, checking, labeling, staging, and handling customer products. Dependable attendance and ability to report to work as scheduled. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with coworkers, supervisors, drivers, customers, and other personnel. Ability and willingness to comply with company safety, attendance, conduct, sanitation, food-grade, and security requirements. Previous warehouse or forklift experience is preferred; required equipment training and authorized certification must be completed before operation.
