This position is responsible for contributing to accomplishing the workflow, performance goals and objectives of the Parts Department. In the Utility role this position will be involved with material handling, facilities maintenance, and driving a company vehicle for pick-up and delivery service. The employee is responsible for maintaining exceptional attendance and punctuality, practice good communication and organizational skills, and be able to use good judgement and sound decision making while working independently. TASKS And RESPONSIBILITIES Including but not limited to the following: Receiving shipments, checking in and stocking merchandise, posting orders into our inventory computer system Accurately and timely pulling, packaging, and shipping of parts orders Material handling including the use of a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and handheld shipping supplies and tools Perform inventory control and facilities maintenance including warehouse organization, bin location maintenance, cycle counting, physical inventory Pickup and delivery of parts, supplies, tools, etc., in a company provided vehicle Communicate professionally and effectively with all teammates, customers, service providers, vendors, and visitors Maintain a safe working environment, by complying with the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies and participate in job-related training exercises EDUCATION and PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : As required for the position High school diploma or GED Minimum age is 21 years old due to company vehicle insurability Valid California driver’s license, clean driving record 2 years of warehousing or customer service experience in construction equipment, industrial supplies, hardware, or automotive parts Forklift certification or able to complete in-house certification Computer proficiency with Microsoft applications and inventory control systems Experienced with shipping systems (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS Worldship, LTL bill of lading preparation) Physical Requirements Requires prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials, up to 50 lbs. Requires climbing stairs, use of various ladders and to be able to stoop, bend, and reach above head Must be able to work in cold and hot temperatures, outdoors, and in noisy and dusty environments At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $20.00 - $25.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
