Warehouse Technician I Job Title: Warehouse Technician I Classification: Non-Exempt Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: 5 Department: Operations Reports to: Manager, Supply Chain & Facilities Date: 07/30/2015 Revised: 10/03/2018, 08/14/2023, 10/30/2025, 10/06/2026 JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The Warehouse Technician supports electric and broadband utility operations by efficiently receiving, storing, and distributing materials and supplies while supporting overall logistics and inventory management processes. Maintains accurate inventory and material records, supports warehouse and logistics activities, and helps ensure crews have the materials needed to perform their work safely and efficiently. Responsible for assisting and providing backup to the Building Maintenance Technician. Performs all work in compliance with safety, health and environmental standards; applicable regulations; and Cooperative policies and work procedures. Stores and maintains materials and supplies to ensure smooth electric and broadband utility operations and a safe work environment. Operates a forklift efficiently, responsibly, and safely to load, unload, and transport materials, products, and supplies around our facility. Ensures proper stacking and organization of items to prevent damage and accidents. Receives work orders, boxes, and material; organizes and places material for construction and maintenance crews. Delivers materials to work sites as needed. Receives materials and completes appropriate records; returns unused materials to stock; receives and inventories partial reels of wire returned by the line crew; receives and inventories broadband materials returned by the line crew; handles the return of faulty and damaged transformers. Maintains the warehouse in a neat, clean, and orderly condition. Monitors scrap bins and coordinates vendor pickups. Keeps the laydown yard free of debris and maintains grounds, including mowing as needed. Coordinates with plumbing contractors and issues water heaters for H2O program. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records. Maintains detailed records or materials issued and returned on work orders, as well as transfers of materials between Cooperative facilities. Assists with custodial maintenance duties of Aiken facilities, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning carpets, and restroom sanitation. Assists with routine maintenance of custodial equipment, supplies, facilities, and grounds. Provides assistance to Building Maintenance Technicians for tasks requiring two or more personnel. Ensures proper care, use, and maintenance of all equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This job occasionally operates in a clerical, office setting. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
