Warehouse Team Member

The ideal candidates will be responsible for moving and staging deliveries in the warehouse. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle packages of varying sizes. This individual will also assist with inventory control and loading/unloading shipments. Starting Pay: $17.00 (depending on shift) Schedule: Days/Nights available REQUIREMENTS Clean Background Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen High school diploma or equivalent – Required One year warehouse experience and knowledge – Preferred DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually per WPL guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading or cross docking Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary Secure freight inside trucks, trailers, and warehouse staging Load and unload packages using a pallet jack and other equipment. Perform heavy lifting (50+ pounds) as required to ensure timely deliveries. Identifies and sorts different types of incoming / outgoing freight with knowledge of proper delivery locations Ensure a safe productive work environment and housekeeping upkeep Utilize our software to monitor freight location throughout the warehouse Alert team members and customer service to any special delivery requirements Frequent contact with additional personnel; fast-pace and deadline oriented Inventory of inbound freight- verify staging location color and write legibly the consignee’s name, inbound date, and piece count Maintains positive customer/team relationships and always maintains exceptional courteous attitude Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Requires the ability to communicate effectively Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, 50+ pounds Requires activities involving moving machinery and exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity Please note this ad is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
