Duties
• Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, stock, and move materials safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory control by conducting regular stock counts, updating inventory management software, and ensuring accurate record-keeping using systems like AS400 or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Prepare orders by picking and packing items according to specifications; ensure proper labeling and packaging for shipment.
• Support shipping and receiving processes by loading and unloading trucks while adhering to safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety protocol adherence, manual handling procedures, and PPE use to prevent accidents.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations including stocking, order fulfillment, materials handling, and logistics coordination.
• Document all activities accurately in inventory management software and complete necessary reports for shipments or incidents.
Skills
• Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks), cherry pickers, pallet jacks, cranes, and order pickers.
• Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, load & unload procedures.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems like AS400 or WMS to track stock levels accurately.
• Knowledge of safety regulations such as OSHA standards; committed to maintaining a safe working environment through PPE use and safety protocol adherence.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining proper technique to prevent injury.
• Basic math skills for counting inventory, measuring materials, or calculating shipment weights.
• Technical proficiency with warehouse management software; quick learner of new systems like inventory management software or material handling equipment operation tools.
• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment focused on logistics excellence.
