Warehouse Team Lead

Warehouse Team Lead Jack and Sage is Growing our Team! Jack and Sage is a startup in the dynamic Outdoor Industry producing innovative apparel designed to evoke memories of experiences and brand engagement for our customers. The Job Description This is a hands-on leadership role. The Warehouse Team Lead personally does the daily shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and inventory work, while leading a team of 1–4 warehouse associates depending on the season. The Lead reports to the Senior Operations Manager, and works closely with operations, procurement, sales, and customer service to get every order out accurately and on time. Accuracy and attention to detail are the most important parts of this role. Responsibilities Shipping Pick, pack, count, and palletize orders to customer requirements and manage pick tickets, shipments, and invoicing in our ERP (Apparel Magic) and Shopify for wholesale, e-commerce, and sample orders Ship small parcel through UPS, FedEx, USPS, and choose service levels and comparing rates when needed. Coordinate LTL shipments and verify BOLs, packing slips, and pallet counts before each pickup. Follow customer-specific requirements, including routing guides, UPC and carton labeling, and special shipping instructions. Create return labels, track shipments, and follow up with carriers on behalf of sales and customer service. File and manage carrier damage, loss, and shortage claims through resolution. Receiving Receive inbound parcel, LTL freight, and floor-loaded containers, and verify quantities and styles against purchase orders. Stage product for QA inspection and put it away in the correct locations. Document and report any damage, overages, or shortages right away. Production Support Receive and put away raw goods and components for in-house production. Pick, pack, and ship finished goods from production for customer orders. Create UPC stickers using LabelJoy for in house and co-manufacturing locations Inventory and supplies Assist in cycle counts for finished goods, raw goods, blanks, samples, and supplies. Research and reconcile discrepancies with operations, procurement, and finance, and process transfers and adjustments in the ERP. Keep all inventory clearly labeled, located, and organized. Keep operating supplies stocked, including thermal labels, tape, box liners, packaging, tools, and office supplies. Team leadership and operations Set daily priorities and direct warehouse associates based on order volume and deadlines. Train team members on warehouse procedures and hold the team accountable for accuracy, speed, safety, and organization. Establish baseline staffing needs, anticipate seasonal peaks, and request temporary help from the Senior Operations Manager. Improve warehouse layout and processes for order flow, returns, and special projects, and document them as SOPs. Serve as the link between the warehouse and office teams, raising issues early and communicating clearly.
