Warehouse Team Lead

Job Purpose Summary:  

The Outbound Team Lead will be the front-line support for employees and supervisors. The team lead supports efforts in the warehouse and is the expert in operational standards. Team leads are also expected to be exemplary workers and be available to assist the team whenever possible.  

Reporting to: Outbound Supervisor 

Working Location: VGM Warehouse in Phoenix, AZ 

Work Hours Classification: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 6:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide indirect supervision of employees and support supervisor in team member initiatives
• Evaluate needs of the team and communicate openly with the supervisor and manager
• Assist employees in all training efforts and handling overflow work
• Assist the quality station when needed and document any errors
• Assist in auditing bulk orders
• Handle all email communication that comes to the warehouse requests distro list
• Communicate daily stats to the team
• Assist in annual reviews for employees, weekly ADP timecard approval, and time off requests
• Be available to come in early and stay late as needed to provide adequate support to the business
• Maintain a clean and safety work environment to prevent accidents and injuries
• Maintain compliance, safety, and quality standards by ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures
• Assistswith safety inspections toidentifyand mitigate potential hazards and complete all necessary documentation
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with others of varying backgrounds
• Set a positive example through personal attendance and time management
• Be willing and adapt to changein order tosupport business objectives
• Demonstrateaccurateverbal and written communication skills
• Work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve business goals and growth opportunities
• Maintain a clear and organized work environment by ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and free of hazards by regularly cleaning and organizing tools, equipment, and materials

• Other duties assigned as needed

Key Qualifications: 

• Ability to consistently communicate with other VGMF and VGM Group personnel in person and via Microsoft Office 365 products.
• Ability toenforce internal VGMF policies and VGM Group HR policies
• Ability to develop, influence, and coach indirect reports
• Ability to multitask and prioritize key warehouse initiatives
• Cross trained in other areas of the warehouse
• Thorough knowledge of D365 and various other programs used by the team
• Willing to work overtime

Education: 

• High School diploma or GED

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility 75% of the workday
• Ability to lift 5lbs or less for extended periods
• Ability to react quickly and move quickly to various locations throughout the building as needed by the operation
• At least 50% of daily time dedicated to being “on the floor” available to assist associates and other personnel
