The position manages WMS configuration and system integrity, including slotting strategy, bin management, and data accuracy, while coordinating with internal support functions and external providers to proactively resolve issues that impact operational performance and flow.

This role operates on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Own warehouse operational readiness, ensuring equipment, facilities, layout, and supporting processes are in place and functioning to enable safe, efficient execution.
  • Manage WMS configuration and system integrity, including slotting strategy, bin management, and data structures that drive efficient warehouse flow.
  • Coordinate maintenance and equipment availability, partnering with internal teams and external providers to ensure preventive maintenance and timely resolution of issues.
  • Identify and resolve system, facility, and process constraints, proactively addressing issues that impact throughput, safety, or execution stability.
  • Act as the primary liaison with support functions (IT, Facilities, Engineering) to prioritize and drive resolution of operational support requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between system design and physical operations, working closely with Operations Managers and Supervisors to maintain flow and minimize disruption.
  • Maintain data integrity and support operational reporting, ensuring accurate system inputs to support decision-making and performance tracking.

Decisions-Making and Scope:

  • Define and adjust warehouse system configuration, including slotting strategy, bin structures, and layout changes to support efficient flow
  • Prioritize maintenance, equipment, and facility-related work, ensuring readiness to support safe, uninterrupted operations
  • Approve and coordinate system and process changes impacting warehouse flow, in alignment with Operations Managers
  • Identify and act on system, facility, and process constraints, determining corrective actions to improve throughput and stability
  • Escalate major system, facility, or capital-related issues that impact operational performance beyond site-level control

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional support efforts, ensuring alignment between IT, Facilities, Engineering, and external providers
  • Drive accountability for system accuracy, readiness, and process discipline, ensuring consistent standards are maintained across all support activities
  • Set clear expectations for system configuration, data integrity, and facility readiness, ensuring operational needs are proactively supported
  • Promote a structured, proactive approach to issue resolution, reducing reactive work and improving flow stability over time
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, identifying system, layout, and process opportunities that enhance operational efficiency

Qualifications:

Education / Experience

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–6 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, or operational support role
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (IT, Facilities, Engineering, vendors) in a support or coordination capacity

Operational Capability

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including flow, slotting, inventory management, and material handling
  • Ability to align system design, layout, and processes with operational requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify system, facility, and process constraints and determine practical solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate competing support activities

Technical Skills

  • Experience with WMS platforms (SAP EWM/WM preferred), including system structure and configuration concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with warehouse system data (inventory, slotting, flow) and transaction accuracy
  • Understanding of equipment and facility environments, including maintenance coordination

Other Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to translate operational needs into system, facility, and technical actions
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with regular exposure to operations
  • Availability to support off-hours or operational support requirements as needed
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements in a warehouse environment

Success Measures:

  • Operational readiness of equipment and facility, including uptime, availability, and completion of preventive maintenance activities
  • System accuracy and integrity, including alignment between WMS (SAP) configuration and physical warehouse setup (slotting, bin structure, inventory attributes)
  • Effectiveness of slotting and layout, measured by improved flow, reduced handling, and minimized congestion or travel inefficiencies
  • Timely identification and resolution of system, facility, and process issues, reducing operational disruptions and reactive fixes
  • Alignment between system design and execution, evidenced by minimal rework, reduced errors, and smooth workflow across operations
