An established foreign food manufacturer has expanded its business to the United States and is currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. This person will report to the Supply Chain Manager. This position will be responsible for managing the warehouse team to maintain efficient and accurate flow of ingredients and materials, accuracy of inventory, on time shipment, and other warehouse activities.
Responsibilities:
Plan, direct and perform warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, shipping, inventory, etc.
Directly supervise a team of shipping and receiving warehouse clerks and ensure that all employees are in compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
Perform data entry function as part of warehouse inventory management system
Lead periodic and special inventory count, reconcile data to find out the root causes of inventory discrepancies, and conduct inventory adjustment
Coordinate with QA team in the reconciliation of ingredients and materials and compliance quality issues
Safeguard warehouse operations and contents to abide by company policies. Work closely with Safety Specialist on safety awareness refreshing training and enforce safety protocols
Assure assigned forklifts and other warehouse equipment are operated safely and maintained in good working condition
Inform third party vendor to maintain and repair machinery and equipment as needed
Coordinate the staffing level with Human Resources, and sanitation and housekeeping schedule with Sanitation
Ensure all paperwork including warehouse and personnel is completed in a timely manner
Address any questions or concerns on food safety and employee safety to management
Oversee hiring, firing, coaching, and disciplinary actions of department staff and/or contract staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Fluent in Spanish & English
Minimum 3 years of warehouse supervisory experience in receiving and shipping, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
Understanding and knowledge of FIFO and expiration management, inventory management, powered industrial trucks and other warehousing equipment
Ability to work flexible schedule depending on operational needs
Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal, organization, and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with computer skills. (MS Word and Excel, and warehouse management software)
Must be able to motivate, coach, train, reward, and recognize employees
Physical requirement including:
Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 100 lbs
Ability to walk and stand for at least 2 hours or more at a time
Ability to work in a cooler or freezer for at least 2 hours or more at a time
