The Role In this role, you will supervise over 20 operators with incoming and outgoing shipments and the activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, picking/ kitting, and loading materials and products by use of conveyors, cranes, hoists, autonomous vehicles or industrial trucks. The Right Candidate Will Be Willing And Able To Follow and enforce all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment. Supervise incoming and outgoing movement of raw materials and finished products, maintain inventory accuracy, reports for department metrics, and other records to meet material handling requirements to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Monitor material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. Supervise the movement of materials throughout the facility and from/ to other facilities. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Report changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew to department manager. Store and retrieve material handling data using MRP system. Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Supervise the onboarding and training of new hires to comply with company standards. Collaborate with outside vendors and suppliers on deliveries and inventory situations. Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers. Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet or computer while maintaining accurate inventory quantities. Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Work closely with other department leads and managers to ensure all parts are delivered to correct location in timely manner. Desired Skills And Qualifications Strong management and people skills Experience with MRP/ ERP software. Strong working knowledge of assembly processes Excellent time management & manufacturing organizational skills Safe and efficient operation of a forklift Experience in Lean Manufacturing is preferred
