Position Title: Warehouse Supervisor Location: Visalia, California — On-Site Job Type: Full-Time Classification: Salaried Exempt — Management Salary: $73,000–$75,000 per year Reports To: Warehouse Manager Position Overview Portmantos Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Visalia, California warehouse. This is a hands-on management position responsible for directing warehouse employees, establishing daily work priorities, managing workflow, monitoring productivity and quality, supporting workplace safety, training employees, and helping ensure warehouse operations are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and will have responsibility for supervising warehouse associates across functions including receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, quality control, and shipping. This position requires a strong floor presence while remaining primarily managerial and supervisory in nature. Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Supervision & Leadership Direct and supervise the work of two or more warehouse employees. Plan, assign, prioritize, and monitor daily employee work. Determine labor assignments based on workload, staffing, inventory priorities, shipping deadlines, and operational requirements. Reassign employees between warehouse functions as business needs change. Establish daily priorities and clearly communicate performance expectations. Monitor employee productivity, accuracy, attendance, conduct, and compliance with Company policies and procedures. Provide ongoing coaching, counseling, training, and performance feedback. Document employee performance and conduct concerns. Participate in employee performance evaluations. Participate in candidate interviews and provide hiring recommendations when requested. Make meaningful recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, advancement, discipline, performance improvement, reassignment, and termination. Resolve routine employee and operational issues and escalate significant employee-relations matters when appropriate. Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and respectful workplace conduct. Warehouse Operations Manage daily warehouse workflow and operational priorities. Monitor workload, staffing levels, order volume, backlogs, equipment availability, and shipping deadlines. Make real-time operational decisions to maintain efficient workflow. Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks. Coordinate priorities across receiving, put-away, inventory, picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure established standard operating procedures are followed. Identify recurring operational problems and recommend corrective solutions. Assist the Warehouse Manager in establishing and monitoring productivity and quality expectations. Recommend process and workflow improvements. Receiving, Inventory & Fulfillment Direct receiving, unloading, verification, scanning, staging, and put-away activities. Monitor receiving accuracy and ensure shortages, overages, damages, and discrepancies are properly documented. Supervise product put-away and warehouse storage activities. Monitor product location and scanning accuracy. Direct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities. Investigate inventory variances and recommend corrective action. Supervise daily picking operations and monitor picking productivity and accuracy. Direct packing and quality-control activities. Coordinate workflow between picking, packing, and shipping. Supervise outbound shipping and staging activities. Monitor carrier schedules, shipment deadlines, and operational accuracy. Coordinate routine shipping activity involving UPS, FedEx, LTL, and other approved carriers. Performance Management & Training Monitor warehouse KPIs and productivity results.
