The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation, organization, and supervision of the warehouse, ensuring materials are received, stored, picked, staged, shipped and delivered accurately and safely. This position will oversee warehouse activities, maintain accurate inventory records, coordinate material requirements with construction and procurement teams, and ensure warehouse procedures, safety requirements and company standards are followed.

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be working closely with procurement, warehouse and project teams to ensure materials are available when required and efficiently delivered to construction worksites.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, staging, shipping, storage and inventory control.
  • Plan and coordinate Material Handlers’ workloads, priorities, training, and day-to-day activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and efficient warehouse and yard.
  • Pick material from inventory, compile with received orders, and stage for delivery to construction worksites.
  • Safely load trucks and coordinate deliveries to worksites. Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity through ERP (Acumatica), appropriate controls, cycle counts, reconciliation, and system transactions.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to improve material flow, accessibility and productivity.
  • Monitor warehouse performance and productivity using KPIs.
  • Establish and maintain warehouse procedures and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee warehouse equipment and facilities requirements, including inspections, maintenance, repairs, and safe operation.
  • Investigate and assist in resolving operational issues, including inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, damaged goods, and workflow disruptions.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Project Management, and Construction departments to align warehouse activities with business requirements. Manage relationships with carriers, contractors and service providers as required to support warehouse operations.
  • Prepare and maintain operational reports and documentation.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, and/or inventory management.1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience. High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Non-GDL)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and direction to warehouse personnel. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to management multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret electrical part descriptions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team.
  • Experience with ERP and inventory management systems; experience with Acumatica is considered an asset. Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Outlook.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, climb, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • A reliable service-driven team member with a strong sense of safety.

 

 A few qualifications that would help you succeed:

  • Valid forklift operator certification. Experience in the electrical utility or construction industry. Experience with Acumatica or a similar ERP/inventory management system.
  • Knowledge of warehouse equipment and material handling practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical materials and components.
