Warehouse Sorter
ConfidentialJob Summary We're hiring a warehouse sorter to keep packages and pallets moving through our facility. You'll spend your shift sorting parcels by destination and getting them onto the right cart or pallet. Trucks arrive on their own schedule, so a quiet stretch can turn into a full dock in twenty minutes, and everyone shifts over to help clear it before the next load backs up. It's on-your-feet work. We'll walk you through the label codes and aisle layout in your first few days, and that's usually enough to get comfortable. Responsibilities Sorting parcels by label and destination. Scan barcodes as items come off the truck. Stack pallets neatly so they don't tip. Moving sorted items to the correct shelf or cart, and setting aside anything damaged or unlabeled so a lead can decide what happens to it, which saves everyone a headache later. Tidy aisles, free of loose cartons and trash. Sometimes helping unload trucks when a delivery runs long. Qualifications You notice when a label doesn't match what's on the box, even on a hectic afternoon. Keeping a cart of mixed parcels organized comes naturally to you. When a truck shows up early, being flexible about switching tasks keeps the day on track. Managing your time so each batch is sorted before the next one arrives is generally the goal. Showing up on time for scheduled shifts matters, the next crew depends on what you finish. Staying calm when things pile up helps more than moving fast. Being a team player and treating coworkers with respect makes the shift smoother for everyone.
