Warehouse Sorter
ConfidentialJob Summary We’re hiring a Warehouse Sorter to keep incoming product organized as it moves through our facility. You’ll take items off arriving shipments and route them to their correct zone, cart, or outbound lane based on the labels and sorting codes attached. Getting it right matters more than moving fast, since a misrouted item usually creates extra work further down the line. You’ll break down pallets, group similar items together, and set aside anything that doesn’t match its paperwork for review. Early shifts tend to bring the heaviest volume, easing off as the day winds down. You’ll typically work close to a couple of other sorters, so staying in step with the group keeps the lane moving. Responsibilities Directing incoming items to their correct zone or outbound lane Scanning barcodes and labels to confirm accurate routing Breaking down pallets and grouping similar items Setting aside mismatched or damaged items for review Restocking sorting bins and supplies throughout the shift Clearing empty pallets and packaging waste from the work area Assisting with inventory spot checks when needed, which usually comes up every couple of weeks Flagging backups to nearby stations before they pile up Qualifications You keep track of small details that others might miss, especially when sorting several similar-looking items at once. Comfortable English skills matter, since sorting codes and labels are written in English. When shipments arrive back to back, you’re able to speed up without letting routing accuracy slip. Being a team player matters here, since the sorting line works best when everyone stays coordinated. Staying organized helps when multiple shipments move through your station close together. You’re generally punctual, which keeps the sorting schedule from falling behind. A steady attitude helps on days when the pace picks up without much warning. You’re willing to learn new routing codes or zone assignments as they’re updated.
