Warehouse Shipping Clerk

Warehouse Shipping Clerk on day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Swanson Tool Co. makes the Speed® Square and other layout and measuring tools in Frankfort, IL. Innovation, since 1925. We're hiring an organized, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to make sure every outgoing order is packed, documented and shipped correctly and on time. You'll work closely with the warehouse team to keep inventory accurate and meet each day's shipping targets. This is a direct-hire job with Swanson, not a temp assignment. PAY $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience. SCHEDULE Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Two PAID 15-minute breaks every day, plus a 30-minute lunch WHAT YOU'LL DO Process and ship orders by UPS and LTL carriers every day Pull stock for customer orders using the order paperwork Sort, pack and palletize freight correctly for each order Keep accurate records for each order, following the customer's routing requirements Check your own orders and complete every QC check Receive inbound freight, check it for accuracy, and unload containers as needed Report any damage or discrepancies to your manager Record the movement of freight through the warehouse Pick and assemble assortments, and pull cycle counts when asked Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading and customs documents Keep the warehouse neat and organized under the Swanson 6S plan (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS You'll lift 50 lbs or more on a regular basis and stand for long periods, with frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, twisting and pulling. The warehouse is an open environment: hot and humid in summer, cold in winter.
