Sorbello Refrigerated ServicesJob Overview The Warehouse Sanitation Employee plays an important role in maintaining the facility’s food safety system and is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly warehouse and cold-storage environment. This position performs routine cleaning and sanitation of warehouse areas, equipment, work surfaces, floors, walls, doors, drains, trash areas, and other designated areas in accordance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and applicable USDA sanitation standards. Must follow established cleaning procedures, properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment, and immediately report unsafe, unsanitary, damaged, or potentially hazardous conditions to management. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize warehouse, cooler, freezer, dock, receiving, shipping, and other designated areas Sweep, mop, scrub, and pressure-wash floors and other surfaces as assigned Clean walls, doors, dock areas, drains, equipment, shelving, and other warehouse surfaces Remove trash, debris, cardboard, and other waste from designated areas Maintain trash and waste areas in a clean and sanitary condition Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to established procedures Properly mix, label, store, and use cleaning and sanitation chemicals according to company procedures and Safety Data Sheets (SDA) by following chemical handling procedures Use sanitation equipment such as hoses, pressure washers, floor scrubbers, brooms, mops, brushes, and other cleaning tools Follow all required chemical safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, protective clothing or other Assist with sanitation inspections and corrective actions when necessary Immediately report any condition that could compromise product safety or quality such as pest activity, leaks, spills, damaged equipment, food safety concerns, or other sanitation issues Maintain proper separation of cleaning chemicals and food products/materials Follow all warehouse safety procedures, including proper lifting, walking, and equipment use practices Maintain required sanitation records and checklists accurately and completely Assist with deep cleaning projects and special sanitation assignments Keep aisles, walkways, emergency exits, and work areas free of unnecessary debris Maintain awareness of forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, and other warehouse traffic Qualifications Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a warehouse, industrial, or commercial setting is preferred. Previous food processing or USDA regulated facility experience is a plus Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and custodial equipment including floor buffers and other cleaning tools. Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices. Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and maintaining a clean work environment. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely. Good physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout shifts.
