Warehouse Quality Control Technician (HVAC) Capital PWL Location: Baton Rouge, LA Employment Type: Full-Time Work Environment: Warehouse and outdoor laydown yard About Capital PWL Capital PWL provides nationwide equipment and material procurement, warehousing, logistics, and facility management services for commercial and industrial clients. This team manages the complete lifecycle of material ordering and delivery. This includes HVAC equipment from procurement and receiving through storage, quality control, and project delivery. We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Quality Control Technician to receive, inspect, document, protect, and prepare equipment and materials for storage and delivery, including construction components and specialized HVAC equipment. Position Summary You will receive, inspect, document, store, track, and prepare materials and equipment, including construction materials and specialized commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The goal is to confirm each item matches purchase and project requirements before receipt acceptance, and that all quality requirements are met prior to delivery. This is more than matching quantities to a packing slip. You will compare physical items against purchase orders, approved submittals, quotations, schedules, drawings, specifications, packing slips, and manufacturer data. For technical equipment, verify identifying information, configuration, ratings, controls, accessories, dimensions, and other project-specific requirements, then document and escalate exceptions. You will work on the warehouse floor and at a computer or tablet. Accurate inventory records and traceability are essential. Primary Responsibilities Equipment & Material Receiving: Receive and stage construction materials, specialized HVAC equipment, controls, components, and accessories in real time as deliveries arive. Receipt Inspection: Inspect deliveries for condition, damage, water intrusion, shortages, missing parts, improper packaging, incorrect items, and other nonconforming conditions. Document & Technical Verification: Compare items against packing slips, purchase orders, approved submittals, quotations, schedules, drawings, specifications, and manufacturer data; verify quantity, identity, configuration, and required components. Documentation & Inventory Control: Record descriptions, quantities, identifying numbers, applicable technical data, condition, status, and location; keep inventory records current. Photography, Tagging & Traceability: Photograph and tag items, associate loose components with the correct equipment or project, and maintain complete electronic records. Storage, Preservation & Outbound Quality Control: Protect items during storage and complete outbound checks for correct quantities, accessories, condition, documentation, packaging, and delivery readiness. Required Skills and Qualifications Required Experience in warehouse receiving, incoming quality inspection, inventory or materials control, construction materials, technical equipment, or a comparable industrial environment Ability to compare equipment and materials against packing slips, purchase orders, approved submittals, drawings, schedules, specifications, and manufacturer data Ability to identify and document damage, shortages, missing components, incorrect items, configuration issues, and documentation gaps Strong computer and data-entry skills, including tablets or smartphones for photography, inventory tracking, and electronic records Exceptional attention to detail, organization, inventory accuracy, and record management Clear communication, sound judgment, ownership, follow-through, and safe work practices around large equipment and materials Preferred 5+ years as a QC inspector or warehouse inspector.
