About the role The Warehouse Project Manager is a hands-on, hourly role for an experienced warehouse professional who likes fixing how things work. Your first priority is to own our inventory count process from start to finish, so the whole company can trust our inventory numbers. Once that process is running smoothly, you will lead other warehouse and operations projects. The role is built to grow: strong performers can take on broader day-to-day leadership in the warehouse over time. You will report to our Director of Operations. What you'll do Own the inventory count process (your first focus) Plan and run our full physical counts, including year-end, and build a regular cycle count program. Set up each count: schedule, count sheets or scanning, crew assignments, and receiving and shipping cutoffs. Reconcile counts against our inventory system (Odoo) and investigate every meaningful variance. Find root causes, such as mislabeled locations, unit of measure mix-ups (pieces, boxes, square feet), unrecorded breakage or receiving errors. Post adjustments with the right approvals and documentation, and work with finance on year-end reconciliation. Improve locations, labeling and lot or shade tracking so product is easy to find and count. Write simple SOPs, train associates on them, and report inventory accuracy every month. Lead warehouse projects (as counts become routine) Lead improvement projects such as layout and slotting, receiving, pick and pack accuracy, breakage reduction and samples organization. Run each project with a clear plan, owners and deadlines, and see it through to completion. Work alongside warehouse associates, train them, and direct daily warehouse work when needed. Coordinate with operations, customer service and our design and production teams. Model and reinforce safe work practices. What we're looking for 5+ years of warehouse experience in distribution, building materials, manufacturing or a similar setting. 2+ years owning or leading inventory counts or cycle counting, including reconciling and resolving variances. Experience training or leading others, as a lead, supervisor or go-to trainer. Comfort working in an inventory system (ERP or WMS) every day, plus spreadsheets for sorting, filtering and basic formulas. A track record of finishing what you start, with results you can point to. Sharp attention to detail and the habit of asking "why" until you find the real cause. Clear, direct communication, both in person and in writing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand and walk for long periods, and operate a pallet jack. Nice to have Experience with Odoo. Background in tile, stone, flooring or other heavy, fragile building materials. Forklift certification. Experience receiving imported containers or LTL freight. Experience redesigning a warehouse layout or writing SOPs from scratch. Familiarity with Lean or 5S. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
