Warehouse Order Picker – Crown Order Picker / RF Scanner Experience Required Company: Portmantos Inc. Location: Metuchen, NJ Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site Pay: $18–$19 per hour Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM; Friday, 9:30 AM–4:00 PM (Hours can change based on peak season needs) Job Summary Portmantos Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable Warehouse Order Picker to join our warehouse team in Metuchen, New Jersey. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience using Zebra RF scanners, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Crown Order Picker equipment (cherry pickers). This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who understands warehouse picking operations, can work efficiently with minimal supervision, and prioritizes accuracy and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Accurately pick customer orders using Zebra RF handheld scanners and a Warehouse Management System (WMS). Safely operate a Crown Order Picker (cherry picker) to retrieve merchandise from elevated warehouse locations. Follow WMS-directed picking instructions and accurately confirm product locations, SKUs, and quantities. Perform order verification to minimize picking errors and inventory discrepancies. Properly handle, organize, and transport merchandise throughout the warehouse. Report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, and incorrect warehouse locations to management. Conduct required pre-operation equipment inspections and promptly report safety or mechanical concerns. Follow all OSHA safety requirements and company warehouse procedures, including applicable fall-protection requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Meet established productivity and accuracy expectations while maintaining safe equipment operation. Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned. Required Qualifications ALL of the following qualifications are required: Zebra RF Scanner Experience: Previous hands-on experience using Zebra handheld RF scanners for warehouse picking and inventory transactions. Warehouse Management System (WMS) Experience: Previous experience working with a computerized WMS to process orders, confirm picks, and track inventory. Crown Order Picker Experience: Previous hands-on experience safely operating a Crown Order Picker or equivalent elevated order-picking equipment, with the ability to demonstrate safe operation of Crown equipment. Previous warehouse order-picking or distribution center experience. Ability to accurately identify SKUs, product descriptions, quantities, and storage locations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy. Ability to follow warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating instructions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates must successfully complete the company's required equipment training and operational evaluation before independently operating powered industrial equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience picking orders from elevated warehouse racking. Experience working in a high-volume distribution or fulfillment environment. Strong inventory accuracy and order fulfillment experience. Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay: $18.00–$19.00, depending on relevant experience. Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable federal and New Jersey wage and hour laws. Medical Insurance: Available to eligible employees, subject to plan terms.
