The Role
As a Warehouse Operator and Helper, you will be responsible for receiving, unloading and storing inbound material (mainly drywall) at our Alliston warehouse. You will work closely with our team to make sure every load is checked, documented and shipped out safely and on time.
Your knowledge and expertise in forklift operation and shipping/receiving will be crucial in keeping our materials moving safely and accurately.
What You’ll Do
• Load and unload trucks safely using a forklift.
• Receive incoming shipments, checking quantities and condition against the bill of lading or packing list, and report any damage or shortages.
• Stack and store drywall and other materials safely and in an organized way to prevent damage.
• Prepare outbound shipments and help secure loads for carriers.
• Keep accurate records of what comes in and goes out.
• Comply with warehouse safety rules and practices
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe.
• Communicate with the PLS project team at our HQ office in Cambridge and carriers about delivery timing and any problems
What You Offer
• 5+ years of experience as a shipper/receiver, warehouse operator or in a similar role
• Valid forklift operator certification
• Experience handling drywall or other materials is an asset
• Ability to handle heavy, bulky materials safely
• Reliable transportation to Alliston (a valid Ontario driver’s licence is an asset)
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
• Alliston, ON L9R 1L9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
