Warehouse Operator

managing competing priorities, and taking ownership of daily warehouse activities while maintaining communication with management and other Normet teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently manage daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper packaging and shipping documentation.
• Enter receipts, inventory movements, and order transactions accurately into ERP systems.
• Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient storage and use of warehouse space.
• Perform routine cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, Customer Service, and other internal departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Prioritize daily workloads independently and communicate operational concerns or support needs to management.
Safety and Independent Working
• Demonstrate strong safety awareness, sound judgment, and personal accountability while working independently as the sole warehouse employee on-site.
• Recognize potential hazards and coordinate additional assistance when tasks cannot be performed safely alone.
• Follow applicable safety and emergency response requirements, use appropriate PPE, and promptly report safety concerns or incidents.
Qualifications
• 2–3 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment preferred.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory control.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing daily responsibilities.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Experience with ERP systems or warehouse management software preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Forklift and material handling equipment experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 70 pounds (approximately 32 kg), with appropriate assistance or equipment when required.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within North America, if required.
Additional Information
• Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional extended hours as needed.
• This position requires working independently as the sole warehouse employee at the Saskatoon facility.
• Required initial training of approximately 3 weeks will take place at Normet's facility in Sudbury, Ontario, with all travel-related expenses covered by the company.
• Occasional additional travel within North America may be required.
• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
