THE MANDATE
This role functions as a hands-on Distribution Team Lead within the operation, working directly between the warehouse floor and the Shift Supervisor. You will help turn the daily plan into action by making sure employees understand what needs to be done, priorities are clear, work is moving and issues are addressed quickly.
The right person will be visible and engaged. You should enjoy coaching people, stepping in when needed and helping create a team culture built around accountability, safety and getting the job done properly.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Lead from the floor. Work alongside the team while organizing people, priorities and daily workflow.
• Keep operations moving. Coordinate inbound, outbound, returns and inventory activities to meet daily schedules and service requirements.
• Develop the team. Train, coach and support employees while reinforcing accountability, safety and quality.
• Adjust and solve. Reassign work, respond to changing priorities and help resolve issues affecting productivity, accuracy or service.
• Step up when needed. Support the Supervisor and provide frontline leadership when Supervisory staff are not present.
WHAT YOU BRING
• 3+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution or logistics, with some frontline leadership responsibility.
• Experience as a Team Lead, Lead Hand, Warehouse Coordinator, Shipping or Receiving Lead, acting Supervisor or similar.
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to organize work, coach people and earn credibility on the floor.
• Experience with SAP, WMS, MRP or similar systems, plus working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
• A practical understanding of warehouse productivity, accuracy and service expectations, with the ability to solve problems as priorities change.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A SUPERVISOR YET
You might currently be a Team Lead, Lead Hand, Shipping Lead, Receiving Lead, Warehouse Coordinator or senior warehouse employee who has already begun taking on leadership responsibility. What matters is that people trust you, you understand warehouse operations and you are ready to take greater ownership for how the shift performs.
This is not a desk-only position. You will work alongside the team, help organize people and priorities, coach employees and step forward when something needs to get done. For the right person, it is an opportunity to build formal leadership experience and create a pathway toward Supervisor and broader operational roles.
