Job Summary:
Nelson-Jameson is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Associate (Warehouse Worker / Distribution Center Associate) to join our team at our modern distribution center in Jerome, Idaho. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and efficiently so our customers in the food and dairy manufacturing industry receive the supplies they depend on to keep their operations running.

As part of a small, highly collaborative warehouse team, you will support daily distribution center operations including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control while operating forklifts and RF scanning technology within our ERP system. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, personal accountability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately receive incoming shipments, verify purchase orders, and complete required documentation.
  • Perform order picking and packing for customer shipments including LTL, small parcel, route deliveries, and customer pickups.
  • Prepare and ship outbound orders, ensuring all documentation and system confirmations are completed accurately.
  • Use RF scanners and ERP systems (P21) to track inventory movements and maintain real-time accuracy.
  • Execute proper put-away processes to ensure efficient storage and inventory accessibility.
  • Support inventory integrity through cycle counts, inventory checks, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Print and fulfill transfer orders between distribution locations.
  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, turret trucks, and deep-reach forklifts (training provided).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrate accountability, strong work ethic, and a willingness to step in where needed to support the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support distribution center operations.
  • Employees must become proficient in multiple warehouse functions to support cross-training and operational flexibility.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Required:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2+ years of warehouse or distribution center experience, ideally in order fulfillment, shipping, or receiving operations. Experience with Forklifts & RF Scanners are a plus!
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and strong work ethic.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
    • Ability to follow direction, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
    • Physical Requirements:
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms.
    • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 56 lbs., occasionally over 75 lbs., and infrequently push/pull up to 115 lbs.
    • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in a distribution or fulfillment center environment.
    • Previous experience operating forklifts or warehouse material handling equipment.
    • Familiarity with ERP or warehouse systems such as Prophet 21 (P21) or similar platforms.
    • Experience supporting inventory control processes such as cycle counting or inventory reconciliation.
