About Us AES is a New Jersey-based freight warehouse services company serving carriers, freight brokers, shippers, retailers, manufacturers, and distribution centers throughout the Tri-State area. We specialize in freight rework, palletizing, transloading and cross-docking, warehousing, and emergency freight recovery. Our business is fast-paced and hands-on—when a customer has a damaged, shifted, rejected, or time-sensitive load, our team gets the job done safely and efficiently. The Opportunity We are looking for a Warehouse Operations individual to take day-to-day ownership of warehouse and freight operations. The right person will be comfortable taking charge of an operation without needing constant direction. You should be able to look at what needs to get done. What You'll Do Coordinate day-to-day warehouse and freight rework operations Coordinate and prioritize incoming jobs based on customer requirements and urgency Direct warehouse personnel and assign daily work Oversee loading, unloading, palletizing, restacking, rewrapping, transloading, and freight rework Coordinate inbound and outbound trucks, trailers, and freight movements Communicate with drivers, and internal staff regarding job status and timing Monitor warehouse organization, inventory placement, equipment, and available space Ensure employees follow warehouse procedures and workplace safety requirements Inspect completed work to ensure freight is secure and meets customer and receiving requirements Respond quickly when emergency or time-sensitive freight situations arise Identify operational problems and take ownership of resolving them Help train and direct warehouse employees Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse environment Provide updates to company leadership on workload, staffing needs, issues, and completed jobs What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, hands-on, and comfortable being the person others look to when something needs to get done. Preferred qualifications include: Previous warehouse, distribution, freight, logistics, trucking, or similar operations experience Experience leading or directing warehouse employees Strong understanding of loading/unloading and general warehouse operations Forklift experience is a must Ability to coordinate multiple jobs and changing priorities Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Comfortable communicating with truck drivers, customers, vendors, and employees Ability to work independently and take ownership of the operation Strong attention to safety and quality Basic computer, email, and documentation skills is a plus Flexibility when urgent or after-hours freight situations arise The Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can walk into the warehouse, understand what needs to happen, communicate with everyone involved, and keep the operation moving. You'll have the authority and responsibility to help run the day-to-day operation while still being willing to jump in alongside the team when the job requires it.
