Warehouse Material Handler / Team Leader

Job Overview Are you an experienced shipping and receiving professional who enjoys leading by example? We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Team Leader to support the safety, productivity, and day-to-day operations of our warehouse team. In this role, you will serve as a hands-on leader, actively participating in shipping and receiving activities while coaching team members and driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will help ensure efficient warehouse operations, support customer on-time delivery expectations, and foster a safe, collaborative work environment. What You'll Do Lead by example and promote a safe, engaged, and accountable workplace. Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to Shipping & Receiving team members. Ensure shipping and receiving activities are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Support and enforce all safety, quality, and productivity standards. Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Quality, and other departments to support business needs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements. Escalate and communicate safety, quality, production, and personnel concerns to leadership. Assist with onboarding, performance management, and employee development activities. Maintain warehouse organization, housekeeping standards, and material accessibility. Investigate, document, and report safety incidents, near misses, and other concerns. Ensure all warehouse transactions and JDE processes are completed accurately and on time. Coordinate shipping requests and priorities across multiple functional teams. Manage team schedules and staffing levels to support operational requirements. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with established procedures. Help maintain facility security during assigned shifts. Demonstrate our company values and behaviors in all aspects of the role. Qualifications Required: Minimum of 3 years of shipping and receiving experience. Forklift operating experience. Knowledge of standard warehouse processes, including picking, packing, shipping documentation, receiving, and truck loading/unloading. Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others. Strong commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork. Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and support the broader operation. Preferred: Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience working with warehouse management or ERP systems (such as JDE). Additional Information This is a hands-on leadership position that combines operational responsibilities with team leadership. Occasional overtime may be required to support business needs.
