Organizational Skills, RESPONSIBILITIES: Order Processing, product identification, pulling, cutting. Transport raw materials, finished products and scrap materials through the plant. Sort, stack, bundle and tag materials. Load and unload vehicles using forklift (upon training certification) Inventory control, accurate material usage reporting during order fulfillment Receiving, identifying and racking of incoming materials. Loading, offloading materials, assisting customers. Housekeeping, including cleaning of warehouse, machinery, yard and related tasks. Perform other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent customer service skills Ability to accurately use measuring instruments – i.e.: tape measure and dial calipers Setup and operation, including material handling equipment, bandsaw, gas (acetylene) cutting equipment, grinders and various hand tools. Physically able to frequently lift/move metal products weighing in excess of 50 lbs. Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience an asset. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS There are physical demands associated with the job of Warehouse Worker which include: The ability to stand for extended periods (two to three hours at a stretch). Mobility sufficient to climb, crouch, crawl, kneel and walk as required by the work being performed. The ability to manually assist material handling equipment and to manually manipulate materials, products and equipment as required by the work being performed. This includes grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, lowering, rotating and carrying. Weight of items to be lifted and carried manually could be in excess of 50 pounds. The ability to grasp and grip tools and materials, operate controls on equipment and manipulate small parts requiring fine motor skills in the arms, hands and fingers. Some repetitive activities are performed which require manual dexterity. Eyesight correctable to facilitate the performance of the required work, including the ability to read measurements and angles, vision adequate to operate shunt vehicles. Hearing sufficiently to understand oral communication and instructions. Hearing is also used to detect potential hazards and audible anomalies in machinery operation, evacuations.
