Warehouse Manager/ Food Safety Operations Manager
East Bay Logistics, Inc.Job Summary Company Confidential is seeking an experienced Food Safety Operations Manager to support our light food processing facility in Union City, CA. This position contributes to the success of Company Confidential through implementing and maintaining the quality management system (BRC), conducting product analysis and ensuring the operation models food safety excellence on a day-to-day basis. The Food Safety Operations Manager will also have an opportunity to play a role in designing and implementing food safety measures and programs across our other non-production facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing, GFSI certification programs, excellent communication skills and high standards for cleanliness and organization. Key Responsibilities Food Safety and Quality Assurance ● Monitors cocoa butter and sugar melting activities and conducts sample analysis, ensuring semi-finished product meets food safety and customer requirements ● Ensures plant is compliant with State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, Organic and Food Safety regulations ● Responsible for Organic and BRC programs, ensuring records are up to date, renewals are submitted timely and certification is current ● Safeguards GMP and SSOP standards, working with supervisors to ensure all employees are trained and standards upheld on day-to-day basis ● Manages pest control program, monitoring trends and collaborating with 3rd party technicians to ensure standards are upheld and expectations are met ● Conducts audits at production and non-production facilities to ensure and uphold a food safe culture ● Acts as subject matter expert for all quality control and food safety items Administrative and Manufacturing Excellence ● Oversees production schedule for all melting activities ● Oversees scheduling of inbound and outbound activities, including liquid load outs ● Accountable for inventory management and product availability for melts ● Ensures a clean and organized warehouse and facility grounds through collaboration with warehouse employees and supervisor ● Ensures paperwork work and system records are done promptly and accurately ● Continuous process improvement to reduce costs and increase efficiency of operation Experience and Qualifications ● 5+ years experience in a QA or QC role in a food grade warehouse or production facility ● Bachelor's degree in food science or relevant field preferred ● Experienced in GFSI, HACCP, GMP’s and organic requirements, BRC specifically preferred ● HACCP and PCQI certification preferred ● Proficient with MS Office suite and warehouse management systems ● Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills ● Strong written and verbal communication ● Excellent time management skills ● Able to occasionally lift/ move 55lb boxes ● Forklift operator certified a plus ● Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred Benefits ● Competitive salary ● 100% paid medical and dental for employee, 50% for family ● 401k retirement plan with company match ● Paid time off and paid holidays Please send resumes to Dan Arata at darata@eblwarehouse.com and Jim Ludwig at Jludwig@eblwarehouse.com.
