As a family-owned carrier and logistics provider, we are actively expanding our warehouse, cross-dock, and 3PL footprint at our Dover facility. We are hiring a dedicated, hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead floor operations, hire and develop warehouse staff, partner closely with our dedicated sales team, and serve as the operational backbone for our facility. The Role Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have end-to-end accountability for facility operations, staffing, safety, and inventory integrity. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Warehouse Sales Representative to assess capacity, confirm labor models, and run client walkthroughs, ensuring every deal sold can be executed smoothly and profitably on the floor. Responsibilities Team Leadership, Hiring & Equipment Training Recruit, interview, and hire warehouse material handlers, order pickers, and dock workers. Lead onboarding, establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), and build daily shift schedules. Oversee material handling equipment (MHE) safety; train, certify, and evaluate forklift operators (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) in compliance with OSHA standards. Conduct regular performance reviews, manage attendance, and foster a safety-first warehouse culture. Sales Partnership & Client Walkthroughs Partner closely with the Warehouse Sales Representative to evaluate prospective customer requirements, labor hours, and equipment needs before contracts are finalized. Host operational walk-throughs and facility tours for prospective B2B clients. Own the 30–90 day operational onboarding process for new accounts to guarantee smooth implementation and strict adherence to client service-level agreements (SLAs). Daily Warehouse Operations & Storage Optimization Direct inbound receiving, staging, pallet storage, pick/pack fulfillment, cross-docking, and outbound freight loading. Maximize racking space, floor slotting, and dock flow efficiency while maintaining high inventory accuracy via cycle counts. Enforce facility cleanliness, physical security, and strict adherence to OSHA workplace standards. Capacity Sourcing & Vendor Coordination Collaborate with partner 3PLs, cross-docks, and freight carriers to arrange overflow space or external support when demand exceeds local capacity. Review outside partner and vendor quotes to protect operational margins. Maintain clean activity logs, labor records, and throughput reports for weekly executive reviews. Qualifications Required: 5+ years of progressive warehouse operations, distribution center, or 3PL facility management experience. Proven track record of hiring, scheduling, managing, and developing floor teams. Hands-on experience with forklift operations (sit-down, stand-up, reach) and the ability/willingness to train and certify operators. Experience collaborating directly with sales teams and conducting client-facing facility walkthroughs. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally/regionally up to 50% for customer site reviews, partner facility visits, or carrier meetings. Reliable daily commute to our facility in Dover, NJ 07801. Preferred: OSHA certified forklift trainer status (or ability to obtain certification quickly). Background in multi-client contract logistics, pallet storage, cross-docking, or e-commerce fulfillment. Familiarity with modern WMS, TMS, and inventory tracking tools.
