Job Description 

The Warehouse Manager completes various management, organization and planning tasks to maintain high performance of the warehouse’s storage and shipment processes. Their duties and responsibilities often include: 

 Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work, ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment and ensuring that the warehouse space is a safe environment.
  • Responsible for all shipping/receiving for the NovaSource network including domestic and international transportation coordination. 
  • Responsible for all receiving/shipping of material into the warehouse.
  • Responsible for warehouse inventory accuracy and cycle count process within the warehouse.
  • Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return.
  • Ensure all OSHA, local and state safety guidelines are followed.
  • Manage the OS&D process for inbound materials.
  • Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
  • Assisting with training of newly employed workers.
  • Follow and/or establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner.
  • Initiate operational reports that clearly show how the warehouse is being managed and where the gaps and issues are.
  • Ensures all KPI’s are met and reported on a daily/weekly/monthly basis (see details of KPI’s below).
  • Implements Lean Methodologies to identify and eliminate all “waste” and ensure that the Warehouse is operating in the most efficient way possible. 
  • Shares “Best Known Methods” with the Warehouse and Logistics team members and Logistics Manager.

 KPI’s

  • Zero Safety issues or safety recordables.
  • WH/Inventory cycle count accuracy >98%
  • RMA turnaround time <5 days (no RMA’s in the WH for more than 5 days)
  • Internal ship requests shipped in <2 days.

 Skills and qualifications

 A Warehouse Manager should have the following years of experience (4-6 years) skills and qualifications to be successful in their role: 

  • Outstanding analytical skills and a process driven mind set
  • Operational understanding with all domestic forms of transportation (LTL, FTL, parcel) as well as international (ocean, air freight, customs)
  • ERP skills and background.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional organization
  • Outstanding Team Player

 Education

  • BS/BA degree plus in Supply Chain Management or a related technical, engineering or business field a plus. 
  • Supply Chain, Warehousing experience preferred.
  • Industry certification preferred (APICS, PMP, NCMA, ISM, etc.).
  • Lean Manufacturing certification a plus.
