Warehouse Manager

Location: Humble, TX 77396 Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (one-hour lunch) About the Position SKY 3PL is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations at our approximately 56,000-square-foot facility in Humble, Texas. The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable leader who takes full ownership of warehouse operations, effectively manages the warehouse supervisor, monitors team performance, and ensures all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations Ensure all warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory, fulfillment, and shipping, are completed accurately and on time. Ensure operational procedures, customer requirements, and safety standards are followed. Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and efficient. Team & Shift Management Directly manage the Warehouse Supervisor, who oversees daily employee activities, assignments, and shift execution. Ensure the supervisor effectively manages employees, follows operational procedures, and maintains team accountability. Oversee workforce planning, shift scheduling, staffing levels, and labor utilization to control costs and minimize unnecessary overtime. Workforce Planning Schedule Friday – Weekly Planning: Ensure the supervisor prepares the following week's workload forecast and preliminary employee shift schedule. Review and approve staffing plans. Daily – Workload Monitoring: Review operational progress, staffing levels, attendance, and upcoming workload with the supervisor. Daily – 3:30 PM Review: Review the next day's expected workload and required labor hours with the supervisor. Daily – Before 4:00 PM: Ensure the supervisor finalizes and communicates the next day's employee assignments and shift schedules. Weekly Performance Review: Review actual labor hours, staffing efficiency, and productivity to improve future workforce plans. Performance Management Monitor employee productivity, operational efficiency, accuracy, and on-time performance through the Warehouse Supervisor. Ensure performance issues, delays, and errors are addressed promptly, with corrective actions taken when necessary. Hold the supervisor accountable for team performance and drive continuous improvements in productivity, service quality, and operating costs. Shipping & Facility Management Ensure carrier pickups, deliveries, and shipping deadlines are properly managed. Ensure the warehouse opens on time and is properly closed and secured daily. Ensure daily operational reports and communications with management and customers are completed. Qualifications Proven warehouse management experience, preferably in 3PL, fulfillment, or distribution. Strong leadership, workforce planning, and employee performance management skills. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to take full ownership of warehouse operations and team performance. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse serving multiple customers. Familiarity with parcel carriers, freight operations, and container receiving.
