We provide service and new installations to hundreds of K-12 Schools, Community Centers, Universities, and Professional Sports Franchises throughout MI, IN, and OH from our Wixom, MI location. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily activities of the distribution center, ensuring seamless logistics, inventory control, and team management. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize warehouse workflows, and uphold safety standards. Experience Proven experience managing warehouse operations in a distribution center or similar setting with a focus on logistics and inventory control. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively in fast-paced environments with strong team management skills. Hands-on experience operating or supervising the use of forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience using Acumatica ERP software would be a major advantage in this role. Knowledge of lean management techniques and process improvement strategies within warehousing or distribution settings. Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, heavy lifting protocols, materials handling practices, and OSHA safety standards. Position Description & Scope of Responsibilities: Job Title: Wixom Warehouse Manager Company: Foster Specialty Floors Classification: Full-Time, Hourly / Non-Exempt Reports To: Operations / Management Position Summary The Wixom Warehouse Manager oversees all daily activities within the Wixom shop, warehouse, and staging yard. This role is responsible for material and equipment logistics, purchasing and receiving, maintenance oversight, vendor invoice reconciliation, and inventory control. The primary objective is ensuring installation crews have the exact materials, fasteners, sundries, and operational equipment required for on-schedule execution across all project sites. Essential Functions & Core Responsibilities1. Material Purchasing, Sourcing & Receiving ● Ordering of Warehouse Materials: Monitor shop consumables, sundries, fasteners, and standard stocking supplies; place timely orders to maintain appropriate minimum inventory levels. ● Alternative Vendor Sourcing: Actively search external web sources and contact outside suppliers to source specialty materials and parts (such as custom rubber transitions) when primary local vendors are unable to fulfill them. ● Documenting Purchases & Receipts: Documenting material purchases, purchase orders, and shipment receipts to maintain accurate records. ● Miter System Purchase Order Management: Enter, manage, and attach Purchase Orders directly into the Miter scheduling platform to coordinate logistics and hold delivery crews accountable. ● Receiving & Verification: Inspect, accept, and log all incoming freight shipments (hardwood flooring, subflooring, synthetic materials, adhesives, finishes, trims). Verify bills of lading (BOLs), packing slips, and delivery receipts against purchase orders, promptly documenting and reporting freight damage or discrepancies. ● Climate & Acclimation Logging: Specifically log and document the temperature and humidity for incoming maple flooring bundles, which is critical for warranty and acclimation purposes before it goes to a job site. 2.
