Position Summary: The Warehouse Manager owns full operational performance for the distribution center, providing strategic leadership across all warehouse functions including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and safety. This role manages the Warehouse Supervisor(s) and broader DC team, sets facility strategy and budgets, drives continuous improvement, and partners with senior leadership to align facility performance with company goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Team Management • Direct overall DC operations across all shifts, functions, and teams, ensuring performance, safety, and quality goals are met. • Hire, develop, and manage Warehouse Supervisors and, indirectly, the broader warehouse team; build training and succession plans. • Own facility-level performance management, including disciplinary decisions, terminations, and promotions in partnership with Human Resources. • Set annual goals, KPIs, and labor budgets for the distribution center; manage operational expenses against budget. • Represent the DC in leadership meetings and report performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership. Receiving & Inventory • Own end-to-end receiving and inventory accuracy performance for the facility, including ERP/WMS system integrity. • Approve and oversee corrective action plans for recurring inventory discrepancies or process failures. • Ensure inventory control practices support company-wide reporting and financial accuracy. Order Fulfillment & Shipping • Own on-time, in-full shipping performance for the facility and drive resolution of systemic fulfillment issues. • Partner with Supervisors and Customer Service/Sales to resolve escalated customer or carrier issues. • Evaluate and improve fulfillment processes to increase throughput and reduce cost per order. Safety & Compliance • Own the facility's overall safety program and compliance with OSHA and company safety policy. • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented facility wide. • Conduct or oversee regular safety audits and ensure required certifications (e.g., forklift) stay current facility wide. Continuous Improvement & Strategy • Identify and lead process improvement, automation, and cost-reduction initiatives across the facility. • Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify trends and drive data-based decision-making. • Partner with cross-functional leaders (Sales, Purchasing, IT, HR) on initiatives impacting DC operations. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. • 5-8+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution center experience, including 3+ years in a management role, required. • Advanced proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel. • Strong financial acumen, including budget management and P&L understanding. • Proven experience managing multi-shift operations and leading supervisors or leads. • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills. • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday. • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions. • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and tools.
