Prior experience in warehouse distribution and heavy equipment operation. The Lumper will work with various types of heavy machinery including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks, requiring mechanical knowledge and adherence to safety protocols.
Start Date: Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Shift time: 8am
Responsibilities
• Load and unload shipments using heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks
• Breaking down pallets, re-stacking product, wrapping/strapping freight, and sorting goods by dock door or SKU
• Assist with order picking and ensure accurate fulfillment of warehouse orders
• Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory and shipments
• Support shipping & receiving activities by organizing and managing incoming and outgoing goods
• Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials within the warehouse
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations and improve efficiency
Qualifications
• Previous experience in warehouse distribution or related fields such as construction or shipping & receiving
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other machinery
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
• Experience with order picking, load & unload processes, and heavy equipment operation
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to warehouse operations
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor involving lifting and moving heavy objects
• Prior experience operating industrial equipment such as forklifts or cranes is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary
This position is essential for maintaining efficient warehouse operations and offers an engaging environment for those experienced in logistics, construction, or material handling.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
• Essex, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
