Warehouse & Logistics Operations Specialist

The Warehouse & Logistics Operations Specialist at Logistics Plus serves as a centralized “control tower” resource supporting warehouse operations and freight execution across multiple locations. This role provides remote operational oversight, shipment visibility, and proactive problem-solving to ensure customer commitments are met while driving cost efficiency and service excellence. This position is critical in bridging warehouse execution, transportation management, and customer expectations in a high-touch 3PL environment. Core Responsibilities Multi-Site Warehouse Oversight (LP Network) Monitor activity across LP warehouses (Erie + global/partner sites) using WMS and internal systems Track inbound/outbound flow, dock activity, and order throughput Identify operational gaps (labor constraints, delays, congestion) and communicate corrective actions Support warehouse teams with daily prioritization aligned to customer deadlines Freight & Shipment Visibility (3PL Environment) Actively track shipments across LTL, FTL, parcel, ocean, and air freight Ensure milestone visibility (pickup, departure, transload, delivery) Coordinate with carriers, LP offices, and international agents Proactively address delays, missed pickups, and capacity issues Customer-Focused Exception Management Serve as a key escalation point for: Late shipments Inventory discrepancies Damage or service failures Communicate updates clearly to internal teams and customers Drive resolution quickly to protect service levels Cost & Efficiency Optimization Analyze freight spend and warehouse handling costs Identify opportunities to: Consolidate shipments Improve mode selection Reduce accessorials (detention, reweighs, etc.) Recommend actionable improvements to operations teams Data, Reporting & KPI Management Track and report on key LP metrics: On-time pickup/delivery Order fulfillment cycle time Warehouse throughput Freight cost per shipment Build dashboards (Excel / Power BI) to increase operational visibility Provide insights to leadership and account managers Process Improvement & Standardization Identify inconsistencies across warehouses and workflows Help standardize SOPs across LP operations Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean mindset preferred) Assist in WMS/TMS optimization and adoption Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with: Warehouse managers Freight operations teams Account managers / sales International LP offices Ensure alignment between execution, pricing, and customer expectations Operational Knowledge Strong understanding of: Warehouse operations (receiving, picking, shipping) Transportation modes (truckload, LTL, parcel, ocean, air) Experience in a 3PL or freight-forwarding environment preferred Technical Skills WMS / TMS experience (CargoWise, SAP, or similar a plus) Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) Power BI or reporting tools (preferred) Problem-Solving & Communication Fast decision-making in time-sensitive logistics situations Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously Strong communication with both internal teams and customers Key Traits for Logistics Plus Success Proactive & Urgent – anticipates issues before they escalate Resourceful – finds solutions in ambiguous situations Customer-first mindset – understands impact of every shipment Comfort with controlled chaos – thrives in fast-moving operations
