Warehouse, Logistics and Order Expeditor

Our organization is growing and has a need of a new Warehouse Logistics and Order Expeditor with previous experience for our warehouse in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This hands-on role keeps marine spare parts moving from our suppliers to our customers. The person receives and checks material, maintains accurate order and inventory records, prepares shipments, and follows up with vendors and carriers so customers receive the right items on time. To be successful in this role, you have to understand the needs of the customer, both internal and external, and to support them accordingly. Attention to details is a must. Key responsibilities, but not limited to: · Receive deliveries; check quantities and condition against purchase orders and packing lists; promptly report shortages, damage, and discrepancies to vendors. · Record actual receipts and order details in QuickBooks (or other system); label and put away material in the correct locations. · Pick, verify, pack, and label customer orders, including material drawn from stock. Record packed quantities and follow up with vendors for non-complete deliveries and back-orders. · Prepare domestic and international shipments and customer pickups. Record carton counts, weights, and dimensions; coordinate with carriers and the team using UPS, FedEx, DHL, and other shipping tools. · Expedite open supplier orders, incoming freight, and vendor drop shipments. Track promised dates, follow up on delays, and keep sales and customer contacts informed of material status. · Obtain and file shipment records, proof of delivery, and freight charges so orders can be traced and billed accurately. · Help maintain inventory accuracy through organized storage, stock checks, physical counts, and prompt correction or escalation of discrepancies. · Keep packing supplies available and the warehouse, shelves, pallet areas, and workstations clean, safe, and orderly. · Assist with crates, pallets, and local pickups or deliveries when needed. Operate warehouse equipment and company vehicles safely and report equipment or vehicle concerns promptly. · Communicate priorities with sales, and management; recommend practical improvements to receiving, storage, shipping, and order follow-up. Qualifications: · Experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, logistics, or order expediting; marine mechanical or electrical parts knowledge is helpful. · Strong organization, attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to read part numbers, orders, measurements, and shipping documents. · Comfort with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and with learning QuickBooks and carrier shipping software. · Clear, professional communication with vendors, carriers, coworkers, and customers; able to work independently and shift priorities when urgent vessel orders arise. · Ability to use pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely; forklift experience is preferred. · Valid Florida driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for local deliveries. Work environment: This is an on-site, active warehouse position involving frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving cartons. The role may require lifting up to 75 lbs., using appropriate assistance or equipment when needed. Work may include local deliveries and occasional overtime during busy periods.
