Warehouse Lead Forklift Operator

Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Warehouse Lead Forklift Operator to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensure safety compliance, and manage materials handling activities. This leadership role requires a strong background in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will possess extensive forklift experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse management systems to facilitate efficient shipping, receiving, and order picking processes. Must have experience with granite slabs and a drivers liscense Responsibilities Lead and supervise warehouse staff in daily operations including order picking, load and unload activities, and shipping & receiving tasks Operate various types of heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, crane, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to move materials safely and efficiently Oversee materials handling processes ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and safety protocols Manage inventory using warehouse management systems and ensure accurate documentation of stock movements Coordinate with team members to optimize order picking and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any mechanical issues for prompt resolution Train new employees on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and warehouse policies Assist in the development of operational procedures for efficient warehouse distribution and storage Experience Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or materials handling roles Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or lead is highly desirable Extensive forklift operation experience with certification preferred Familiarity with heavy equipment such as cranes, clamp trucks, and order pickers Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety and heavy equipment operation Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control Background in related industries is a must for understanding heavy lifting techniques and safety standards Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team within a fast-paced warehouse environment while utilizing a broad skill set in heavy equipment operation, safety compliance, and logistics management.
