Position Summary

Working independently and exercising sound judgment and discretion, the Warehouse Inbound Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day inbound operations of the warehouse. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate receipt of all inbound Purchase Orders (POs), proper storage and inventory control

Primary duties encompass PO receipt, inventory, put-away, adjustments and audits, and preparation of required documentation. This role also serves as a backup in the absence of the Warehouse Manager. Additionally, the position acts as a liaison between Logistics and Export Health, Inventory Control, Account Management, and other supporting teams, while completing any additional tasks assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for improved workflows through strategic planning and coordination of inbound product, warehouse put-away.
  • Appointment & Delivery Management: Schedule and maintain appointments and deliveries, generate and print Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Inbound Driver Check in: Sign in driver, verify PO and appointment and assign door.
  • Email Communication: Respond promptly to internal warehouse related email requests, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Inbound Processing: Utilize inbound POs to receive products into xTuple and DSS systems, including creating all necessary labels for purchase orders and outgoing shipments (lot serials, license plates, and military labels).
  • Documentation & Labeling: Process all CPFD RPQ bills of lading, receive them into DSS, and coordinate labeling requirements.
  • Regulatory Coordination: Manage Pork Certification processes with USDA inspectors and create USDA Health Applications, coordinate USDA Health Certificates with Documentation.
  • Container Dispatch: Prepare weekly container dispatch logs and communicate details to carriers for timely dispatch, manage driver sign-outs.
  • Operational Support: Assist the Warehouse Manager with tasks such as computing weekly scorecard metrics ordering warehouse supplies and securing outside rental plugs.
  • Shipping Assistance: Support shipping documentation processes, including inspection applications and pallet manifests, oversee Shipment Board updates, photo downloads/filing, and provide physical labor as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Handle sample requests, audits, and miscellaneous inventory needs, assist with and cycle counts.
  • Food Safety Audits: assist in preparation for Food Safety audits.
  • Incident & Discrepancy Resolution: Research, update, and report xTuple incidents, reconcile inventory discrepancies and make necessary adjustments (e.g., broken cases, returns to stock, rendering area maintenance).
  • Cross Department Collaboration: Maintain a collaborative and productive dialogue with other departments and associates, fostering workplace harmony and supporting the company’s mission.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Backup Coverage: Serve as backup for the Warehouse Manager, Outbound Lead or Warehouse admin clerk as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
