Warehouse Forklift Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling warehouse operations, including order picking, inventory management, and material movement using a sit-down forklift. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety, and the ability to manually lift and move heavy items without incident. The Warehouse Forklift Operator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations and accurate order fulfillment. Responsibilities Operate forklifts to move materials and products throughout the warehouse Perform order picking accurately Accurately receive incoming loads and verify outgoing loads using shipping/receiving best practices Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper stacking and storage Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs Assist with inventory management by organizing stock locations and assisting with cycle counts Use basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying quantities during order fulfillment Handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently to meet daily operational demands Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries Qualifications Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance is preferred Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order processing Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols in a warehouse setting Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods during shifts Prior experience with order picking and warehouse management is desirable High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications for forklift operation are a plus but not required Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: Casual dress Dental care Disability insurance Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Vision care Work Location: In person
