We have an immediate opportunity for a Warehouse Foreman Industrial Manufacturing , based at of our facility in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the warehouse to support customer order commitments and corporate objectives. The Warehouse Foreman is responsible for arranging domestic and international logistics for inbound and outbound shipments, including customs paperwork as required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for inventory storage, transactions, accuracy, cycle counting, audits and inventory asset value.
- Identify opportunities for reduction in redundant or obsolete inventory.
- Develop, recommend and implement improvements in warehouse practices.
- Completing tasks within our ERP System.
- Promote efficiency, optimal service and cost reductions.
- Manage the workforce, including training, supervision, discipline, performance reviews and daily tasks as required.
- Assist in the recruitment of new hires.
- Work directly with departments, such as production, sales, legal, finance and/or purchasing to coordinate warehouse and shipping activities and to troubleshoot problems.
- Negotiate with carriers/freight forwarders for services and preferential rates; select or recommend carriers; develop and maintain carrier relationships.
- Complete necessary shipping and customs documentation such as waybills and packing lists, certificates of origin, export declarations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for international shipping.
- Assist in resolving freight company invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in a warehousing and manufacturing facility.
- Experience working with a manufacturing union environment is a strong asset.
- Comfortable working in our manufacturing facility/ shop as well as in the yard.
- Self-motivated, fast learner and ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Focused goals for continuous improvement.
- Experience working with drilling equipment and transportation vehicles an asset.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
