Vortex Optics is looking for a talented individual to join our Operations team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to flex, covering staffing needs, in any Operational area. Accuracy, quality, and speed are what provide an exceptional CARE experience for our customers!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Learn, understand, and perform job responsibilities of all necessary warehouse functions with a core focus on receiving, replenishment, kitting, and operation of all powered equipment within the warehouse.
- Support other departments as needed
- Perform general warehouse maintenance such as cleaning, sweeping, organizing
- Follow safety procedures in accordance with approved training and reports any dangerous conditions to a leader immediately
- Participate in team meetings by presenting and sharing information.
- Perform all department functions as necessary, demonstrate good work habits, encourage clean and safe work habits, and exhibit positive attitudes toward internal and external customers
- Operate standard office equipment efficiently to include – computer with printer, photocopy machine
- Perform additional duties as assigned, working together in cooperative manner to achieve department and company goals.
- Receive performance and culture related feedback, ensure understanding, and grow/develop skills accordingly
- High school diploma, high school equivalency degree (HSED), or general education degree (GED).
- Previous work in a distribution-based business.
- Customer service.
- Attention to detail.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Works productively, cooperatively, and professionally with business partners.
- Proven ability to cross-train with other warehouse functions.
- Proper physical lifting techniques and use of warehouse equipment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.
- Exhibit the ability to work well with others and maintain organization cross-departments.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods during a shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Ability to visually inspect products, materials, or documentation.
- Ability to operate equipment or machinery safely.
- Ability to work at various heights.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Display the ability to multitask and handle multiple issues at the same time.
- Previous user experience in Warehouse Management Systems.
- Previous Crown powered equipment operator experience.
- Proficiency with RF device operation.
