Materials Coordinator

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Ensures efficient material flow across locations by managing receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory records, supporting production schedules and addressing shortages collaboratively.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Replenish materials in designated locations within 24 hours to ensure availability.

  • Provide accurate receiving updates to relevant departments.

  • Address material shortages and collaborate on solutions.

  • Deliver and track materials to project locations.

  • Pick and organize materials for project kits (may involve forklift operation).

  • Handle urgent material requests promptly.

  • Manage material transactions and maintain accurate shortage reports.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Solid understanding of plant operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution.

  • Proficient in basic to intermediate computer skills and inventory software tools.

  • Experience with Axapta or similar ERP systems is an asset.

  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage material flow based on project needs.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Forklift certification (preferred; mandatory for some tasks)


PERSONAL ATTTRIBUTES:

  • Able to seek creative ways to solve or work through problems.

  • Able to multitask unpredictable workloads.

  • Independent and disciplined, does not require close supervision.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated expertise in materials handling.

  • 1-2 years of warehousing experience, including familiarity with stockroom procedures and cycle counting.
