Warehouse & Fleet Manager

Job Overview Super Cool HVAC is hiring a Warehouse, Fleet, and Facilities Manager to keep our shop stocked, our trucks running and our building in good repair. We are a locally-owned residential and light commercial HVAC company in Charlotte, NC. This is a hands-on, independent role: you own the parts room, the fleet and the facility, and the techs and installers depend on you having what they need when they ask for it. We are looking for someone organized, detail-oriented and mechanically capable who does not need to be managed. Responsibilities Maintain stock levels of equipment, parts and consumables Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery with distributors and vendors Compare quotes and find cost savings Manage warranty claims and returns with suppliers Keep the warehouse clean, safe, labeled and easy to navigate Schedule and track inspections, registrations, tires and repairs for all company vehicles Perform vehicle repairs in-house and manage outside shops for major work Deliver parts and equipment to job sites and technicians as needed Handle general repairs and handyman projects: lighting, basic electrical, carpentry, painting Place and track purchase orders; reorder on set par levels Processing trash and scrap metal Receive deliveries, check them against orders and resolve shortages or damage Keep inventory counts accurate, including truck stock and returns Required qualifications We care more about aptitude and reliability than a specific résumé: a former mechanic, a maintenance tech, a handyman or a trades generalist can all fit. 2+ years in a hands-on role such as automotive or diesel mechanic, facilities maintenance, general contracting, or warehouse and parts operations Comfortable with basic electrical, lighting, carpentry and general repairs Able to maintain light-duty vehicles and vans Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; you keep accurate records without being asked Self-starter who spots problems and fixes them without direction Mechanical aptitude Basic computer skills: spreadsheets, email and inventory or ordering software Valid driver's license and clean driving record; able to pass a background check Able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods and work in a shop environment Preferred qualifications Any of these shortens the learning curve but none is required. Familiarity with HVAC equipment, parts and terminology EPA 608 certification or willingness to obtain it Experience with inventory management or fleet tracking software Licensed or experienced in electrical or another trade Prior purchasing or vendor-negotiation experience Schedule, pay and how to apply This is a full-time, on-site position in Charlotte, NC.
