Warehouse Equipment Operator Job Description Department: Warehouse Operations Employment Type: Full-Time 8AM-4:30PM Position: Warehouse Equipment Operator Position Summary Savannah River Fulfillment is seeking dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented individuals to join our warehouse team as Equipment Operators. This position is responsible for safely operating powered industrial equipment to move, locate, retrieve, and organize merchandise throughout the warehouse while supporting daily fulfillment and inventory operations. Equipment Operators may utilize Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJs), Forklifts, and other authorized warehouse equipment depending on their assigned responsibilities and completed training. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, spatial awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Safety, accuracy, organization, and adherence to company procedures are essential to success in this position. Key Responsibilities Safely operate assigned warehouse equipment, including Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJs), Forklifts, and other authorized equipment. Transport, retrieve, position, and organize merchandise throughout designated warehouse locations. Accurately locate and select products according to customer orders and inventory requirements. Load, unload, stack, and move pallets and merchandise using appropriate equipment and approved procedures. Utilize handheld scanners and warehouse management systems to verify product locations, quantities, and inventory movements. Perform required pre-operation equipment inspections and report damage, defects, or unsafe conditions immediately. Maintain awareness of pedestrians, surrounding equipment, warehouse aisles, and potential hazards. Properly secure, position, and transport loads to prevent product damage, equipment incidents, and workplace injuries. Follow established equipment operating procedures, designated travel paths, and warehouse safety requirements. Maintain accurate inventory handling and report discrepancies, damaged merchandise, or incorrect product locations. Meet daily productivity and accuracy expectations without compromising safety. Maintain clean, organized, and accessible warehouse work areas. Communicate equipment concerns, operational issues, and safety hazards to management. Follow all company policies, OSHA requirements, and established workplace safety procedures. Qualifications & Skills Previous warehouse equipment operating experience preferred. Ability to successfully complete company-required equipment training and evaluation before independently operating powered industrial equipment. Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe material-handling practices. Good spatial awareness, coordination, and attention to surroundings. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make safe decisions while operating equipment. Basic computer proficiency and ability to use handheld scanners and warehouse management systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and operate assigned warehouse equipment for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to lift, carry, and handle merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to safely enter, exit, and operate assigned equipment. Ability to maintain visual and situational awareness while operating equipment. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
