Our client, a leading consumer products manufacturer is seeking an experienced Warehouse Automation Engineer to support automation, robotics, and material‑flow optimization across three production facilities. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑speed manufacturing environments and enjoys a mix of hands‑on automation work, project leadership, and multi‑site collaboration. Candidates based in Pennsylvania will have shorter travel distances between plants.

Locations: Macon, GA | Lewistown and McElhattan, PA

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, design, and optimize warehouse material flow across three manufacturing sites.
  • Lead automation projects involving robotics, conveyors, material handling systems, and warehouse automation technologies.
  • Provide PLC troubleshooting and support for high‑speed manufacturing and consumer products equipment.
  • Develop warehouse system layouts, process maps, and automation footprints to improve efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, lean tools, and data‑driven analysis.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support expansion and optimization projects.
  • Travel up to 50% to support projects, commissioning, troubleshooting, and cross‑site initiatives.

Qualifications/Must Haves:

  • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience designing warehouse layouts or automated system footprints.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and work onsite at one of the three plant locations.
  • 5+ years of automation or controls engineering experience in consumer products or high‑speed manufacturing.
  • Hands‑on experience with robotics, conveyors, material handling systems, or warehouse automation technologies.
  • Background in continuous improvement with demonstrated Six Sigma or lean capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related field)
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training accepted with strong automation/PLC experience.
