Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator – Part-Time (Temporary)

About the Role BuildDirect is looking for a reliable, hardworking Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator to support operations at our Santa Fe Springs, CA warehouse. This is a temporary, part-time opportunity, ideal for someone with previous warehouse and forklift experience who is comfortable performing physically demanding work. The position will involve handling flooring products, preparing orders, operating forklifts, and assisting with general warehouse activities. We anticipate approximately 24 hours of work per week, with the position expected to last a few months or less. Key Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and organize warehouse inventory. Manually lift, move, stack, and palletize boxes of flooring and other heavy building materials. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Wrap, secure, and label pallets for transportation. Assist with receiving deliveries and loading outbound freight. Organize inventory and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse. Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as required. Follow all warehouse safety procedures and proper material-handling practices. Requirements Forklift experience and current forklift operator certification/training required. Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience. Ability to regularly lift and carry heavy boxes of flooring, up to 50 lbs independently, and handle heavier materials with assistance or appropriate equipment. Comfortable with repetitive lifting, bending, standing, and other physically demanding tasks throughout the shift. Experience palletizing products and preparing freight shipments preferred. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to reliably commute to Santa Fe Springs, CA. Schedule and Compensation Pay: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience. Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week, typically spread across 3 days.
