**Please apply only if you have direct experience operating and backing a gooseneck trailer, securing the loads you transport, and following the transportation requirements applicable to those trips.** Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, hands-on team member to support warehouse and yard operations and equipment deliveries. This position involves receiving and offloading primarily HVAC and industrial equipment, performing initial shipment checks, loading and securing outbound equipment, and transporting materials using a 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer. This employee works alongside our QA/QC Technician during receiving. The driver safely offloads deliveries, checks for visible damage and apparent shortages, compares shipments with available documents, and hands off any issues for further review. The QA/QC Technician performs the more detailed equipment inspection and processing. Direct gooseneck trailer experience and sound DOT compliance knowledge are required. Applicants must have personally towed and backed a gooseneck trailer, loaded and secured equipment or materials, and applied the transportation rules relevant to their work. This is a combined warehouse and driver position, not a dock-to-dock driving role. Key Responsibilities Receiving & QA/QC Support Safely receive and offload incoming deliveries using a forklift and other appropriate equipment. Check the apparent quantity and identity of delivered items against the bill of lading, packing list, and available purchase or project documents. Identify visible freight damage, missing or incorrect items, and packaging concerns upon delivery. Take photographs and promptly communicate damage or discrepancies so they can be documented and addressed. Hand off received equipment, shipment documents, and concerns to the QA/QC Technician for detailed review. Move equipment to designated inspection, staging, or storage areas while protecting it from damage. Assist the QA/QC Technician with handling and positioning equipment as needed. Loading, Delivery & DOT Compliance Stage, load, and unload equipment and materials for delivery. Evaluate load placement, weight distribution, vehicle and trailer ratings, and securement needs before travel. Select, inspect, and properly use straps, chains, binders, and other appropriate cargo securement equipment. Protect equipment from damage and verify that loads remain properly secured during transportation. Operate a company 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer and safely back and position the trailer at warehouses, jobsites, and delivery locations. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and identify vehicle, trailer, tire, hitch, brake, lighting, and securement concerns. Follow applicable DOT and other transportation requirements, including cargo securement, weight limits, driver qualifications, hours of service and logging, inspections, and required documentation. Recognize when a vehicle, trailer, load, or trip presents a compliance or safety issue; report the issue and resolve it before proceeding. Maintain accurate inspection, trip, delivery, and other required records. Warehouse, Yard & Facility Upkeep Keep the warehouse, office areas, equipment, and laydown yard clean and organized. Maintain clear access routes and identify safety or housekeeping concerns. Assist with general exterior upkeep, including mowing, weed control, basic landscaping, and debris removal as needed. Help maintain forklifts, vehicles, tools, and other equipment in good working condition. Required Qualifications Valid Class A CDL in good standing. At least 2 years of work experience towing and backing gooseneck trailers with a 1-ton truck or similar setup. Hands-on experience personally loading and securing equipment or materials on an open trailer.
