Warehouse Associate
Galaxy Wire and CablePosition Summary: The Warehouse Helper is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, material handling, packaging, and general warehouse activities. This position works closely with warehouse and production personnel to ensure materials are properly received, organized, packaged, and prepared for shipment in a safe and efficient manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with receiving incoming materials, supplies, and equipment. Verify received materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and other documentation. Assist with unloading, moving, staging, and organizing materials throughout the warehouse. Pull and prepare materials for shipment according to work orders, packing lists, and customer requirements. Box, package, label, and secure products and materials for shipment. Prepare shipping documentation and assist with shipping activities as directed. Assist with loading and unloading trucks, delivery vehicles, and freight. Maintain organized and clearly identified warehouse storage areas. Put materials away in designated locations and maintain accurate material locations. Assist with inventory counts and material verification as needed. Inspect packages and materials for visible damage before shipment or storage. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Operate basic warehouse equipment and material-handling equipment as trained and authorized. Follow company safety procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements. Assist other warehouse and production personnel with material movement and other tasks as needed. Perform other general warehouse duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, manufacturing, or material-handling experience preferred. Ability to read and follow basic written and verbal instructions. Ability to accurately identify and handle different materials and products. Basic math and counting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Ability to safely lift and move materials as required by the position. Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials. Ability to lift packages and materials weighing up to [XX] pounds. Ability to bend, reach, squat, and maneuver throughout a warehouse environment. Ability to safely perform repetitive material-handling and packaging tasks. Work Environment: Manufacturing and warehouse environment. May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and moving equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
