Pay: $17/hr Location: Cohoes, New York Position Summary The Inventory & Materials Coordinator is responsible for providing daily operational support and controls across all aspects of inventory and materials management. This role ensures inventory transactions, audits, shipments, and related processes are completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with departmental procedures. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision, support continuous process improvement efforts, and assist with training and inventory control initiatives. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management & Transaction Processing Validate information generated from inventory picks and replenishment activities, identifying and escalating discrepancies as needed. Perform high-volume inventory transactions, including: Inter-Business Unit Transfers Inventory Receipts Bin-to-Bin Transfers Material Stock Requests (MSR) Execute and maintain accuracy across all inventory transactions, processes, and system inquiries. Retain detailed audit records for all inventory-related transactions. Support inventory reconciliation activities and ensure inventory integrity. Shipping & Logistics Process domestic and international shipments using FedEx, UPS, and other shipping platforms. Prepare all required shipping documentation and customs paperwork. Track and resolve missing deliveries and shipment issues. Process and document all INTERCO shipments. Training & Process Improvement Recommend process improvements and corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. Implement approved process changes and provide retraining when required. Develop, maintain, and document departmental training materials and standard operating procedures. Train team members on order processing, picking, shipping, tracking, inventory transactions, and related warehouse functions. Inventory Control & Audit Support Serve as a key contributor during annual physical inventory activities, including ticket control and reconciliation. Ensure compliance with inventory management procedures and auditing requirements. Assist Materials, Purchasing, and other departments as needed to meet operational objectives. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field. Experience processing inventory transactions and maintaining accurate inventory records. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Skills Inventory management and materials control. Shipping and logistics coordination. Troubleshooting and problem-solving. Customer service and internal stakeholder support. Technical aptitude and ability to learn inventory management systems. Process improvement and documentation experience. Training and mentoring capabilities. Physical Requirements Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, wrapping equipment, and other warehouse tools. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical warehouse activities throughout the workday. Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
